This is the incredible moment when a fox approached Declan Clarke as he was playing a round of golf at New Ross Golf Course

A MEMBER of New Ross Golf Club has spoken to the Echo about how he was taken completely by surprise when playing a round recently as a wild fox approached him at the third hole.

Declan Clarke, from Camross, was enjoying a round and was just getting ready to putt at the third when a curious fox approached out of the bushes.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” said Mr. Clarke.

“He approached cautiously but we actually ended up even feeding him by hand, it was really amazing,” he added.

Admitting that nothing like it had ever happened in on a golf course before Mr. Clarke said he had heard stories in the clubhouse about a fox being seen at the course in New Ross but he himself had never seen it until now.

“It’s a mature adult and he just came up to us as we were on the green,” he said.

“It was really incredible.”
